The sun is that through — and against — which things become known.
Through its direct and unmediated experience it defines
roundness,
cycles,
orientation,
living, and
light.
It is at once the critical substrate for apprehension, and always beyond it.
brighter than bright, and always in tremors.
… the Garden of Forking Paths is an incomplete, but not false, image of the universe …
CHAOS is a work of phenomenal reductions, observation, and sensitivity to difference ( information ).
It presents three synthetic visions of the sun: one whole, one hollow, one absent.
Each, in turn, perturbs ( subtracts from ) one another through obseration in series.
This work is about looking at looking; rendering experience into experience; perceiving yourself having perceptions.
CHAOS is held in both graceful languor and violent tremors.
Staring at the sun — letting it burn into your eye — is encouraged.
